The Art of Community, Janet and Jim Ayers' Collection of Tennessee Art at the new FirstBank offices in downtown Nashville, features artwork acquired with the assistance of Nashville-based curator Anne Brown. The collection honors the creative spirit and character of Tennessee and reflects the bank's community-based philosophy.

The idea to incorporate original Tennessee artwork into the office décor came from Janet Ayers, president of the Ayers Foundation and wife of FirstBank founder Jim Ayers. With the curatorial assistance of Brown, owner and curator, The Arts Company, and using recommendations from a team of community leaders and art scholars, approximately 200 paintings, sculptures and photographs from across the state of Tennessee were acquired for the collection.  This collection was started and completed in a four-month period.

“Jim and I always enjoy our collaborative efforts with Anne Brown in selecting an impressive and extensive Tennessee collection,” said Mrs. Ayers. “These exhibits truly reflect the creativity found in Tennessee.  We’re so proud to showcase our Tennessee communities through a diversity of artwork, highlighted in our corporate offices in downtown Nashville.”
